I want to use this blog as a way to fill in the gaps about yoga and how to create a practice for yourself--one woven through the games you play, the work you do, and the life you want to lead. The practice you'll develop through these videos and longer flows is a good starting place, but if you want to keep growing in your work of health and balance, you'll probably want some additional info!
I've always been the type of person who wants to know whyyy?! WHY, Universe, why!? WHY AM I DOING WHAT I'M DOING? WHAT IS IT LEADING TO? WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT? WHAT IS STUFF? WHAT IS LIFE and LOVE and GOD and MY MIND? WHERE AM I? WHO AM I?
(Y'all know what I'm sayin'?)
But seriously, as I see it, knowing a bit more about yoga and how it can benefit your health is something that will give you confidence and conviction in making this a priority-- even when adventure is calling in virtual worlds. You'll know what's up and why you have to just press pause, do a couple minutes of yoga practice, and make health happen. It's how you make happy happen.
So this blog will give you (mostly) short posts about yoga relative to YOU, to gaming, and to body and mind. I want you to get as much as you can out of your Yoga for Gamers work. Yoga is an ancient system of art, science, and philosophy, and believe it or not, that same depth is there behind the stuff you do in the videos, too.
Yoga is old, but tried and true. I'm hoping to make it relevant and interesting to you, now, today.
Danielle enjoys yoga, writing, games, cartoons, and music. She relates a lot to Avatar Korra and is training hard as a yogi to learn element bending. She's also interested in exploring the element of PLAY found in both yoga and video games. Danielle is the one you see in the videos and the creator of Y4G.
